Default Shifters?

Does anybody know if theres a Hurst or B&M short throw shifter out there for our tranny? Or possibly in the works? I think we would all agree that the stock shifter kinda sucks.

Unless they have made a change that I'm not aware of, the 6-Speed transmission should be the same as what the late model TJ's had (03-06) and I would imagine that you could just use a kit for one of them

Shifting on a TJ is kind of like rowing a boat as the distance between gears is so far apart. A good short throw shifter will do just what it sounds like, reduce the distance from gear to gear making it faster to shift

Just talked to Joey at B&M tech, they have it in the works but it will be a while before it is on the market.

That's interesting. I was looking on some of our sponsors websites and it I guess they haven't made one for the NSG-370 yet. Well, I guess they will now

Ok, it's what I figured it was but I didn't know it if did other things for you.

Is it pretty easy to install? I'm assuming it involves some sort of levered shifter and not just a shorter stick?

Once they are installed are they pretty foolproof or are there potential problems you have to watch for?

Thanks for the answer,
Beel

(I like that, "rowing a boat" )
