Shock boots
I have noticed several jeeps without shock boots.
Is it ok to run without the shock boots?
I have a set of rancho 5000s and would like to remove the boot if it does not damage the shock.
Thanks

just say NO to shock boots. from experience, i can tell you that they do nothing more than serve as a trap for water, mud, dirt, debris and salt. over time, they will rust out your shock shafts and that will damage your seals. even when install properly, there are still holes on the shock ends and in the boot itself to help it breath as they extend and collapse. this is where your gunk gets in and why it stays in.

i'm not saying they are very important as some really good shocks don't even have any
