Default Short throw shift lever

Has anyone found a short throw shift lever for the JK? I really think that a good short throw lever could do wonders for that 5-6 shift.

I'd like to know as well. Getting out of my car and into the jeep kinda feels like I'm driving a school bus!

I see you guys are relatively new to the site so I'll go ahead and break the news. We've been crying for one since we all got our 6spd JK's and no aftermarket company has answered the plea as of yet...

Unless its happened lately and I don't know about it. If so I'd be getting me one. My dads 57 Chevy with the 3spd on the column has a shorter throw than our current shifters.

That really is ashame. I can't imagine why no one has thought of this yet.

Hello out there sponsors, I bet quite a few of us manual owners would buy this in a second.

I'll have to agree. My JK shifter is still about a foot shorter than my CJ shifter.

Any mechanics/engineers out there, please correct me if I misspeak, but contrary to some of the replies on this website, the goal of a short throw shift lever, is not to decrease the length of the shifter.

Primarily, the goal is to make the overall length of shifter movement to engage the different gears shorter and crisper. This is primarily done by changing the shape of the shifter and shift forks.

While some of the 5-6 shifting issues are due to the shift boot, I do believe that finding the gears would be far easier, and shifts would be crisper if someone would make a short throw shift lever.

I'm curious about how many would vs. wouldn't, so I think I am going to see if I can put up a poll to see how many would purchase one if available.
