Default Shortend Antenna? Anybody?

I've seen it before but never heard anything about people shortening there antenna? Wouldnt this make the radio signal a little more difficult ? Or is it still strong enough? Also does this affect surious sat radio?

Thanks!!

Cool

It does not affect the sat radio at all, but we installed an antenna from stubbyantenna.com and the radio signal is A LOT weaker than the stock antenna. We loose local staions very easy around town

I installed a short rubber "Euro" style antenna from a seller on Ebay. (antenna_x)
$9.99. I'll post some pics to get a better idea what it looks like. No problems with radio station reception.

Also the SAT antenna is a separate antenna (little black box) underneath the center console top cover. I had to relocate it when I put the Tuffy Flip n' Lock cover in.

The stubby/rubber antenna doesn't bang into the garage door header and it won't get stuck on any tree branches. One thing I noticed in a snowstorm the stock antenna had a bunch of snow collecting on it and it started swaying back and forth. Thought it was going to break off.

As far as radio reception I guess it really depends on where you live?

I did a tight trail in AZ a few years back with my TJ. Thanks to some brush, my antenna ended up getting pushed back into and poked right through the soft top over the door sill. I keep meaning to do something about the JK antenna, everytime I pull into my garage it hits the entryway and whips around.
