Default Silly question...

Honestly, how bad would it be to leave the swaybar discos disconnected all the time? Would it really ruin anything in city driving? I think the only time you might notice a significant difference is when turning (and you shouldn't be turning fast in a JK anyways!) and maybe hitting a large pothole.

Just curious what others thoughts on this would be.

Some people actually do this. I have only met once person. It gets really squirrely IMO. If you get in sticky situation you could easily lose control. Also on windy days, it would probably be no fun.

I imagine you could get used to it and drive slow but you could also get used to driving with no headlights at night. Why would you want to?

Get quick disconnects and be safe brother

Well in FWD racing u run a smaller or no sway for the front to get the back end to swing out creating oversteer this would be bad if you didnt know how to handle it, this case with the jeep you may end up spinning out in a situation because of that same effect. I wouldnt theres no real reason to do it

I broke both of mine before on my old TJ. It was ok although it got a little freaky sometimes if you had to swerve or make an unexpected maneuver. Personally I'd say just stay safe and disco each time you go out... I wouldn't ride like this again.

If you had to maneuver quickly it might end badly

If you ONLY do city driving I would say you'd be ok, but if you frequent the highway I wouldn't leave them disconnected.

no, you shouldn't but, there are times that you have to like in an emergency to swirve around a car that suddeny backs out of a driveway or to avoid a child that happens to run out in front of you. in situations like this, it would be dangerous to you and others to not have your sway bar links connected.

Well put I didn't think of any serious dangers like that.

Why take a chance on somethings that's potentially dangerous? It's not that much effort to hook them up.

I'm not planning on driving disconnected. It was curiosity that just had the old thinking cap milling about with ideas and "what if" questions. In regards to discos, was simply curious what the pitfalls might be. Now I know. Another great reason this forum rocks!
