Default Skid plate recommendations for JKU with LS Engine

My 08 JK now sports an LS LMG engine and 6L80 transmission courtesy of Motech. Last time I changed the oil I was thinking that the cast aluminum oil pan probably would not hold up to rocks very well. I have managed to put dents in the old V6 oil pan so I'm thinking an engine/tranny skid plate would be a good idea.

Anyone have first hand knowledge of one that will work?

Thanks!

I'm running the Rock Hard engine and transfer case skid with my 6.0L and 6L80. I did have to make my own front mounts for the front of the skid. All else cleared just fine. The front mount will have to be different because the engine mounts have changed.

Robbie used his new EZ Mounts with my conversion. The engine frame mounts are stock Mopar. I asked Robbie too but he hasn't got back to me yet.

Talk to the guys at Artec about fitment... Our Artec skids have taken some serious abuse.

Ah... okay. My install was done several years ago and I think the mounts have changed.

One recommendation Robbie made to me is to put some holes in the skid to allow for more cooling for the transfer case and such. I haven't done that yet, but plan to have a machinist in my area put some dimpled holes in for me.

I'll say that the Rock Hard skid on my rig has taken one heck of a beating and still works and still bolts into place without issues.
