Default Skid plates

I was wondering if anyone knew of any man 6 spd trans skid plates avail for the jk?

And is there any other skid plates that you guys would recommend replacing the stock ones with........... or are they good enough to beat around on for a while?

Thanks
Derek

I have the Rockhard oil/trans skid and love it. It covers the oil pan, trans, cats, and the crossover exhaust pipe right before the crossmember.

The only factory skids on a 6 spd are the transfer case and gas tank. Nothing protects the oil pan.

You can wheel without it. Just avoid dropping the jeep on it until you get some protection under there. The other thing you need to watch is the evap canister. The cheap plastic POS that hangs down unprotected and attracts every rock and stick. You can relocate that for about $50 with a kit from "Woods" or you can get a rockhard skid for about $100. I relocated.

I will check on that evap canister as well, i might go with the relocation as well, do you know where you can order the woods kit? and how hard it is to relocate?

Woods is a sponsor here, but I dont think his site is up yet. Just PM him and he can give you more info. The kit is not hard to install, but there is cutting. You have to slightly modify the factory evap mount and drill a few hole in the body of your jeep.

Here is a thread about it:
