Default Kongo cage + thule box

Get a rack (congo is the cheapest and good quality in my opinion)
and get a thule or yakima ski box to keep the grime off. That's what I do.

I understand needing to keep the goad grime off your skis, so here are my two suggestions:

#1. Put the skis in bags, and then put them in a hitch mounted rack behind the Jeep.

#2. Get the MBRP rack, put an appropriate sized box on it, and away you go.

Both of those will satisfy your criteria:

-Keeps the skis clean
-Keeps the interior damage free
-The MBRP will involve drilling into your hardtop, but the kit comes with an internal frame and gaskets to do this properly.

here is the answer. OR FAB TIRE CARRIER.

Solves two of your problems. Tire carrier for large tire and a wicked good ski rack giving lots of options to carry skis and snowboards

shown here are 185 cm long 112 mm waist, 142mm tip skis.

Only problem is in a ski bag it sightly covers the rear tail light. I am adding something to the rack to raise the skis about 6 " and then it's problem solved.

here is the rack with nothing on it.

I bought a Thule hitch mount four bike carrier with a ski and snowboard rack. I had to buy a hitch extension also to clear the spare. Bag those things up and it leaves you all the interior for gear or people, which ever fits. I picked them both up on eb. for really cheap, almost 150 below MSRP
