Gobi rack w/Thule box.

Frame mounts in rear. Windshield mount in front. No drilling.

Also quit skiing and start boarding!

x2 this would seem the best solution to keep salt off of the skis and not scratching things on the inside. You would just have to knock most of the snow and ice off at the end of the day to avoid it dripping on you.

Try the yakima hitchski. I needed a hitch extension for my bike rack to clear the tire though.

Both Thule and Yakima offer styles available to hang over the rear tire, out from under (tow hitch) style and even strait to the spare. Just depends on your taste and budget. I'd personally just get clever and go with one of the ways mentioned. Cause these racks can get pretty pricy

I'm in same boat. Like tire mount esp if you already have a tire carrier or aftermarket rear bumper. But, hitch carriers are good for versatility - ie, can be used on the "other car" etc.
