Yes regret Skyjacker 4" lift:

I bought the 4" skyjacker kit with plus drop pitman, shocks, stabilizer, and 3/4" spacers.
Had an off-road shop install. Results were:
Both axels off center by 1", resulting in tire rub when flexed.
Caster angle at 2.7 & 3.2 degrees, resulting in steering wandering all over the road.
Pinion angle at 10 degrees with rear drive shaft at 20 degrees, resulting in a drive shaft that was destined to blow up (see other posts on this).

Bought the following to remedy all of the above:

Full traction adjustable upper & lower front & rear control arms, plus adjustable track bars front and rear.
Currie weld in track bar brackets.
JE REEL HD 1350 drive shafts.

This brought a new meaning to Just Empty Every Pocket!

Moral of the story, if you're going to 4" and want things set right, get adjustable stuff (IMHO) and put it in yourself. Also David at Northridge was great! Also Eddie was super helpful on info. for a novice on installing this stuff!

PS Skyjacker parts are for sale. Only 100 miles on them.

Blue mesa, did you get the long arm or the short arm 4"? I believe that the long arm comes with adjustable control arms

That's a fine-looking rig! I think this is a pretty good thread. I'm still feeling out which lift I want to install and this was one of my options. Thanks for the info all, I appreciate it!

As you know Braket, I have the same suspension you just installed. I have been running mine hard for close to a year now and love it. The problem with any of the suspensions out there that attach a track bar bracket at the axle end, is that the factory welds are just too wimpy to withstand the stress. The rear brace provided from skyjacker is great but the front was never addressed on mine and I've torn it completely off. I have destroyed two bushings from two of the rebuildable control arms....likely from the lack of grease. Remember to service these joints as much as you can.
With many lift kits, you will find that you can easily get more suspension travel if you get longer shocks. Most companies are designing their kits so that the shocks limit the down travel. Too much down travel will necessitate coil spring retainers and new drive shafts......and this is why you typically get such short shocks with many lift kits.
The JK long arm kit is one of the best quality suspensions I have run on a Jeep.

i went with straps in the back for now with my longer shocks, haven't tested it out yet though. I appreciate all of your help before I bought the kit, I am very happy with it so far, but haven't had it to long yet did you end up cutting the mopar rubi rock rails and pinch seam? could you send me pics of yours if you did for reference? I checked the flex today and noticed that I don't get much movement b4 it rubs the rails. Thanks
