And I have to ask, because I am function over form. Why on earth do you want 20" wheels? They will hurt performance in every way.
Im not 100% on the 20's yet, but im not a huge fan of the "all tire and no rim" look that is if i do go with 37's and thanks for all the input so far on the skyjacker, ill have to look more into the tera.

I dunno if skyjacker has recently gone to crap or what the bad rep is about, but I had a skyjacker lift on my wj years ago and it rode great. I had no issues with it at all. I got their softride system with the upgrade shocks and the ride was much softer than my JK is. BUT.... (always a but) my teraflex lift on my jk was so much more complete, and the arms from teraflex made the fixed arms from skyjacker feel like plastic. not really, but you know. My only complaint with the teraflex was the instructions. It is 2 different vehicles, but both similar coil spring 4 link systems. The teraflex kit has twice the parts to it I think. lol. Full traction is amazing also. I would go with one of those guys or clayton or currie before skyjacker. Just because I have never seen skyjacker post on this forum, I would think if they were on here they would defend themselves on here

Phish Jeep do you like your rock krawler lift. I am about to purchase one. Do you recommend it with the bilsteens.

Skyjacker makes great shocks, love their Nitro 8000s, other than that they let a lot of TJ guys down with their lacking quality, especially related to spring sag, much less one of the noisiest setups out there. I've never heard anything good about them for TJs, maybe they've improved by now . One local guy has a SkyJkr kit on his JK and haven't heard him complain about anything with his.

I'd say go no more than 4" and do flat fenders. My baby 2.5 TF BB & Flatties clear 37s just fine and I'll likely do no more than a 4" kit one day.

METAL has a Rough Country 4" kit for $650 in the Suspension For Sale section, you should jump all over that.

I don't have any experiance with the 7" kit(which seems like way to much for a 2 door), but I do have a 2.5" Skyjacker Suspension Lift. I have had zero problems with it. I have had Skyjacker lifts on several vehicles I have had in the past with no problems. Skyjacker got a bad rep on here when a few people had trackbar mounts break. The Skyjacker fix was pretty lame and rushed to the market to stop the complaining. If you go with adjustable track bars it's a non issue. However, this site is extremely slanted toward a few certain lifts, nothing wrong with that, just not everyone on here is always as informed as they let on. Most are simply repeating what they have heard.

Every lift you look at will have it's supporters and opponets. Full traction had it's share of bushing issues. That doensn't mean Full Traction is crap, just means they had a bad supplier. Do some google searches on the lift you like, search magazine reviews.

That is good, solid advice.

I'm not saying no one should get a skyjacker lift, I just woudln't with the trackbar problems they cause, even their new bracket doesnt totally fix the problem, yes i am saying that from what I have read here, BUT isnt that why most of us are here to begin with? to hear what others are saying about different products? Yes other lifts have their issues too, but I dont recall any as bad as skyjacker breaking things off your jeep to a point where you cant drive it. Yes skyjacker can be done with adjustable trackbars or a currie bracket welded on as WOL has said.

I understand all lifts will have their supporters and opponets but having a bad bushing supplied and a bad design that IS the cause of breakage are two HUGE differences, in MY opinion. I'd rather buy from a company that has not been known to cause breakage. Just think how many more breaks there would be if it were not for this site and people reading about the problems and how to fix it before breakage occurs. Imagine how many have had the issue and not talked about it on Jk-forum. I'm sure skyjacker didnt come out with a "Fix" just because of the people who had the problems on this site, so to me its much more then just a few. Maybe we should make a poll thread to see how many have broken on here and how many fixed theirs with adjustable trackbars or beefed up their brackets before breakage.

Hope I'm not offending anyone, I just dont like things that people pay good money for that cause breakage, specially when the company knows about it.

Take a look at the TeraFlex Long Arm 6" kit. Comes with control arms that are adjustable and quiet. A Forged front trackbar with a forged flip draglink/brace is included. TeraFlex = BEEFY. pssst download the 2009 catalog. If you have any questions, call me.

Our rear trackbar bracket #1954777 has a u-bolt and bolts to the stock tb location and lower shock mount. To my knowledge, no one has ever torn one of these off.

Not offending me at all and not directing this at by any means wheeled with you at ure and think you are a pretty good fella. I have no connections to skyjacker in fact I think their customer service sucks. My post was to the OP and stated my opinion. I have been around wheeling my whole life. My family(Dad and Uncles) have lifted every vehicle they have owned as far as I can remember. the lift I have seems to be quality made, it has held up to what I have thrown at it. I have seen some junk in my 33 years.

My post was directed to the OP to inform him that, again in my opinion, that there is a negativity against certain lifts on this board just as there is on any other automotive type forum. Just happens to be the brand of lift he asked about has had it's issues magifed by a bad OEM design, early on and can't shake the stigma on here. Are Skyjacker lifts the only ones to break track bar mounts? I don't think so, I have a freind that broke his stock. They rushed a lift to market and have payed the price for it.

No offense to you or anybody else, but this forum while a good source of information in general, has alot of post whores that just like to share any opinion, not necessarily thiers, just in most cases they are repeating what was heard. Kinda like the whole Obama frenzy created by the media
I was only sharing my good experience with the product and encouraging the OP to research multiple sources and decide what was best for them. Again I think the forum has a wealth of knowledge but contrary to popular belief a high post count doesn't make anyone an excellent mechanic or expert wheeler. I have learned alot on here and at the same time saw advice given that makes me cringe.

If your goin 40" tires, 7in is ok. If not , I"d look for a complete lift such as TereFlex or Full Traction with adj control arms, trk bars and such. You'll definately need new Driveshafts. If you want that much lift , go susp 4or 5in then a 2in body lift. You'd be surprised how high a 4in lift will net you though.
