Please don't rely on exhaust gasses smelling to tell if they are coming into the cab, if your engine and emissions components are working correctly you won't smell anything.

I am running the Dynomax Competition exhaust that dumps out in front of the axle and do not have an issue one with exhaust smell in the Jeep.

Before swapping to the Dynomax I had the same issue with my stock muffler. Came down hard on a rock and dented the muffler and smashed the tail pipe. My recommendation would be to cut off the damaged section so that it will clear the rear bumper and call it a day.

It's mostly flouride for those that drink from the tap but that's everywhere....but point taken.

While backing down an obstacle to get a better line, my muffler tip caught a rock and got bent under the axle. I bent it back and cut about 5" off. Haven't noticed ant exhaust smell.

lol got to love Jeep I never understood why they bent the exhaust down. Shoot I was thinking about getting rid of the cubby storage by cutting it out and welding a flat piece of metal then mounting a muffler up there.

I would just cut it off and call it a day or stick on a new end.

I have the one that dumps before the rear axle and can't say I've ever recalled smelling exhaust in the cabin as long as the drain plugs are in.

It should be well under $100 for your local muffler shop to weld on a new tailpipe section for you. There's nothing wrong with cutting it and leaving it off, though. We have a few systems that exit under the car without any issues.
