Smashed tail pipe
Mine doesn't go out past the rear bumper. Like I give a shyt LMAO. These commies can kiss my black ass.
.
If your venting into the under carriage you could smell exhaust in your cabin. Carbon Monoxide sinks so I don't think that would be an issue but exhaust is not all Carbon Monoxide so you might get other fumes inside the cabin. I think you would be fine though if you ran with the top and doors off.
I am running the Dynomax Competition exhaust that dumps out in front of the axle and do not have an issue one with exhaust smell in the Jeep.
Before swapping to the Dynomax I had the same issue with my stock muffler. Came down hard on a rock and dented the muffler and smashed the tail pipe. My recommendation would be to cut off the damaged section so that it will clear the rear bumper and call it a day.

lol got to love Jeep I never understood why they bent the exhaust down. Shoot I was thinking about getting rid of the cubby storage by cutting it out and welding a flat piece of metal then mounting a muffler up there.
I would just cut it off and call it a day or stick on a new end.
I have the one that dumps before the rear axle and can't say I've ever recalled smelling exhaust in the cabin as long as the drain plugs are in.

It should be well under $100 for your local muffler shop to weld on a new tailpipe section for you. There's nothing wrong with cutting it and leaving it off, though. We have a few systems that exit under the car without any issues.
