Smittybilt SRC at Moab
I spoke with Mat at Smittybilt today. The price for the SRC front will be increasing, probably to around $450 (can I get some love? It's soooo rare that I am right about anything). If you want it, order it soon, before the price increases.
Ten are being built next week (initial run) and they will go through 4WD (not sure where I am on the list :( ) Then two weeks later they will make the first full sized run of 50, if all goes well. Also, the production version will have solid shackle mounts, no more 4-1/4" plates welded together. Also, the finish will be textured, not smooth.
The new Smittybilt (The company that owns 4WD, ProComp, etc bought Smittybilt.) products are being made in the USA (they were not before). As such, their quality seems to have improved.

I ordered mine today from 4WD. They have it in their computer as backordered until 5-25. I've been speaking with Mat at Smittybilt for about two months. The finish is their standard texture finish, not the powder coated black like the prototype that was seen at MOAB.
It is Winch ready.
The price will likely increase. (My opinion) It's been in 4WD for about two months at a nominal increase over the TJ version (it even had a picture of the TJ version- there were no pictures of the new one, yet.), $20 more at $299.99. With all the extra metal, I think the new one will end up costing in the $400-$450 range.
There is a rebate on all Smiitybilt bumpers through the end of the month, $25 for a single bumper.
My most recent 4WD came with a sticker on the front for 10% off any one item over $200, so my final price with shipping was $278.93.
As a reference point, the Warn winch plate for the stock bumper that works with most winches was $295. I probably could have made a plate similar to ones you've seen for something in the neighborhood of $150 (just a guess), but for that difference, I decided to go with the bumper. Also, If I am right about the price increase, I shouldn't have any trouble selling this one for close to what I paid when I decide to get a Shrock stubby (my favorite, but over $600 shipped).

I think that is close enough to move up to shrockworks.

I ordered mine 4-12. I spoke with 4WD today, and I am #6 on the list, so if everything I've heard over the past two days is true, I'll get one of the first 10. Woohoo. I hope they have the bugs worked out first, though.
If you are one of the five that ordered before me, you should also get it next month. If you ordered shortly after 4-12, maybe, maybe not. Good Luck to all.
I have not seen it anywhere else other than 4WD, and they are higher now.

Well tomorrow is the day 4wd.com is supposed to be getting a batch of these in. Does anyone have any info directly from Smittybilt? Are they on schedule? I also ordered the Smittybilt Classic Rock Crawler rear bumper with tire carrier, 4wd.com also has an ETA for tomorrow. Any bets on whether they meet the deadline or not?
