That really stinks! I was considering getting those myself. I wonder if they're going to give you .. "The rocker guards aren't meant to hold against the weight of the vehicle, they're only to protect your rocker panels from lateral impacts".

This is my prediction.. but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

I got another email from Smittybilt saying that my pics were sent to their R&D for review. They also asked me for more pics from below to show what exactly is causing the problem. I just shot a bunch and will send them more pics.

PM sent. I was actually surprised they got back to me so quick. Maybe I got lucky and got the right guy who actually follows up on comments.

Hmmm, I bought some Smitty Built rock sliders. they weren't too hard to install, a little tricky like a chinse puzzle, but when I swung it the right angle they poped right on! But the one in the picture looks like a single rail. I have triple rails on each side! They stick way out like traning wheels And they do seem pretty solid and were fairly heavy to lift, so they gotta have some metal in um! But I bet they wouldn't support the whole wieght of the Jeep. But I'm not into rock crawlin, yet? I mainly got them because the outside rail comes all the way out even with the fender flares and evens out the look of the Jeep. And to keep larger rocks that the tires through up from denting my rocker panels. Maybe they are not so rock slider, rock sliders? But they will probable do fine for what I use my Jeep for!

Should be interesting to see what the final outcome is going to be. Stinks that it caused damage in a hard to fix area. Keep us updated! I find when people on JK-Forum have an issue enough people in the business see it and may feel they are more in a position where they have to do 'something' in order to save their name. Others will do the right thing right from the start. Hope you get some help on this from Smitty on this issue.

I had a slight issue with my GEAR tailgate cover and they are taking care of it no problem.

I called the 888-717-5797 and talked to Ray Anamos.

They were more than understanding very prompt and got things taken care of. One thing I do suggest from a service point of view as a consumer try to keep in contact with the service rep throughout an issue we sometimes get held up with other things and as humans we do forget.

P.S.
I asked about drubility of rock rails sliders ect. They said if it is bending under the weight of using a high lift jack take a pic and email it they will take care of the issue as they are not supposed to bend like that.

I have the same rails and a nice dimple on my right side of body Not as bad as yours but if any serious crawling goes on then for sure damage will occur. No pics yet but I'll contact Smittybilt soon and let em know/. The more people with this problem that speak out hopefully they'll fix the problem quick They do seem heavy duty but a middle bracket is a must and I believe problem will be fixed
