Default Smittybilt winch

Apologize if this is already discussed in another thread but here goes. I spent most of last week visiting family and doing lots of off-roading. I found myself in a muddy swamp type terrain near the a creek on the property and need to winch myself out. My first time using my smittybilt 8k winch. Well apparently my winch was labeled wrong from the factory. The free spool and engaged are backwards. The remote works correctly so I know it's wired correctly. Pulled great both times I used it without any issues. What would you do? Am I acting like a pansy wanting my product to be labeled correctly or should I be happy with the fact that it works?

Which was is the end of the handle pointing when in free spool mode?

To answer your question, that's up to you if you want to go through the trouble of shipping back, waiting, and re-installing the winch.

If everything works fine, maybe they can get you a new sticker? Then you're happy and saved yourself some time and effort.

Thanks for the advise. I checked with 4wparts here in Charlotte. Apparently there was a batch of winches that went out with this problem. They are sending me a replacement sticker.

I got one too. It bothered me at first, but now I like that I'm the only one that knows how to run my line out.
