smittybilt xrc modular bumper with stinger vs. src question
I know there are a ton of threads on stingers but need some more specific information.
Making mods and the never ending quest to get your jeep the way you want it is part of the fun of the jeep world. So many styles and looks, some for fuctionality and some purely for those looks to choose from can drive you crazy. I have been wanting a new front bumper and have decided to go with a stinger because I like the look plus most of the trails I run are steep and rocky and the idea of a stinger on a 2 door makes sense to me. (Not that I ever want to test the fuctionality of a stinger). So I thought I had decided on the smittybilt xrc modular bumper with the stinger over the src for looks and price however a buddy of mine made the comment that the xrc's stingers are bolted on and not welded and it couldn't be trusted in the event I did get in that situation. I did some more research and looked at as many pics as I good to verify this but couldn't find any info about the strength of the stinger. My question is this; is the xrc truley bolted on and if so does it hold up in the event your ass end decides to go over and try and use it? The src from what I see is welded. And appears to be a stronger stinger if and when its needed. What are your opinions on the two?
