Snorkel
I have been trying to decide on whether to go with a snorkel or not, and as much of my driving is in some desert conditions, with a lot of dust, as well as some small stream crossings, thought this might be what i need. Question. What is the best all around snorkel to purchase, and do they all require hood cutting unless you buy another hood made for the snorkel in question? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
I went with the Safari which cuts into the quarter panel. I'm having it professionally installed on Tuesday as I don't feel comfortable cutting into the panel myself. Also, whichever way you go, remember to get the other intakes raised as well.
I love my AEV snorkel and cutting the hood is not that hard to do. The entire install took less than 2 hours and looks like it was installed by a professional. Don't let cutting the hood discourage you from getting a snorkel.
