Default Snorkel time

I'm looking to add a snorkel, most likely AEV's snorkel. My question is which top is better: the pre-filter or air ram top?

I like the looks of the pre filter, but the more I look at it the more I wonder if it will start to look like a lantern to me on my Jeep. I will prolly still go with the pre-filter though.

Go with the prefilter. I wasn't sure about the look, but now I think it looks the best.

ok one clean one

Hey Simon have you seen the ones with the prefilter painted black? I think you shoudl do it

btw I actually do like the aev snorkels, either one looks good, I hated them when I first saw them, but they grew on me, specially after seeing them in person

I considered painting it black, but then I can't see if it's filled up with dirt. I guess I would just have to keep checking it. Or... I could put a piece of tape down first, paint it, then have a clear strip. hmmm...

BTW, AEV looks better than RR. haha

you could leave a cutout on the back side of it to be able to look into it

how much dirt has it caught?

My jeep holds more water

It catches a good amount. But when it snowed pretty hard the other week, snow got caught in there. It melted a day later and was swishing around.

So will the pre-filter keep a good amount of dirt and debris from going into the airbox? If so, it seems like the way to go as opposed to the ram air box

Jim, the AEV has is set so you change from the prefilter to the ram air. I just didnt like the look of the prefilter myself. Looks likea bug zapper sitting on a post in front of a trailer park. I see your feeling shamed into it after last weekend. Its actually a really good investment.

Next comes the periscope mod it I am gonna continue to follow Tkob1060 in Wharton.

Those both look cool, how hard is it to cut through the body panels? That scares me
