Wow; That was really cool of you and I appreciate the offer. I actually just moved from Baltimore to Chester, VA late last year. I do have the tool that Metalcloak sends you (bolt and threadless nut). I think minor variances in the holes I drilled led to the bolt binding on the exo-skin and I should have stopped when it bound.

If your trying to remove it, use the power tool and try to get something behind the head of the bolt and pull pressure on it too. Needle nose pliers may work.

I hate rivnuts.. they never last we use them at work. I rather use heavy duty rivets.

The guys at the 4wheelparts store let me use their rivnut gun to finish up a few that were spinning on my JK last year. That little "tool" that they give you to install the rivnuts is a joke. You could set all 18 rivnuts that my sliders require in less than 10 minutes with the gun. Granted the holes are already drilled. You don't have to worry about the rivnut spinning, because it simply pulls it up like a regular rivet gun. I had to go buy one to install a spoiler on my Jeep SRT8 after the install tool broke on the first rivnut!

Got the bolt out with lots of pressure via a pry bar and an impact gun. Tried to get the tool back in there to try and tighten it up but it's a no go. Only goes in about 6 turns. I doubled up the thread less nuts it uses as a bearing surface buts still not enough. Gonna try and get something to take up more space on the install tool to see if I can get the rivnut to tighten. Maybe I can run a tap thru the rivnut if I can get it right enough.

If you have a 4WheelParts store near you, maybe you can talk them into letting you use their gun. Like I said, it simply pulls it up like a rivet. The rivgun that I bought was only around $100. It was also designed for rivnuts about the size of a pencil. The gun needed for those size rivnuts are almost $200!

Nearest is in NC. I think I'll finish with the installation leaving that one without a bolt until I can get someone to fix it. I don't want to left with something sticking out of it or possibly an expensive repair. It's not even visible with the rockers on anyways.

If you have another rivnut to use then drill out the old one with the same size bit as the original hole. When you put the new rivnut in, coat outside with red loctite before putting it in the hole. Squeeze the rivnut with tool and then let sit for 24hrs. I do this all the time with thin aluminum.

2nd way is to drill out rivnut and before you put in new rivnut...slide into a star washer first then squeeze down and that rivnut will never spin. Only problem with this way is the washer could cause a gap that will not allow a flush mount of whatever you are installing.
