So it's not my brakes squeaking, what could it be?

What are you running? As in tires, lift, armor, bumpers, etc....

And if things couldn't be worse, I'm not sure now if replacing the axle shafts will help. Yea, I have over 40k on my jeep, on my 2nd lift, 3rd set of tires from stock, to 33's to now 37's - all on the stock shafts.....so, maybe the flange is bent? Granted, chromoly shafts are always a solid, good upgrade and with a 10 year warranty(even on bent flanges), perhaps i'll roll the dice, haha....

Anyone else find anything else out since I first started this thread? Any other thoughts?

I'm surprised how calm I have been because when the squeak is there, it is annoying as ALL hell and I want to jerk the wheel into oncoming traffic! haha

The rubicon has been doing it since 3 months old and stock, save for maybe the mopar winch bumper. The 2013 is like a week old and stock.

Well I also had "The Squeak" how I determined it was a bent flange was by taking a Dial indicator with a magnetic stand and the problem was very evident! Just enough tweak that it made the rotor hit the pad.

I had about 13-14 thousandths of deflection just enough to make it "Squeak". So my new 10 Factor shaft shipped out yesterday. Hope this helps

Did you check if the rotors are warped at all? You mentioned that they are perfect but mine looked perfect too with only 3000 miles on them yet they were warped. Replaced rotors, squeal went away.

BRILLIANT!!!! Well, I'm pretty damn sure I found out what the squeak is coming from my front end....hopefully....

Jeep Wrangler JK Squeak Issue - YouTube

Now, hopefully some others can chime in and help on the few questions I have.

I took a look at the lug nuts and the lugs and noticed that perhaps my lug nuts were "bottoming out" since the ends of them are rounded (all lugs have a slight difference in outter shape I believe). That being said, I trimmed off about a 1/4'' on every lug to perhaps see if the shorter lug would allow the lug nut to press back the wheel more firmly against the rotor and no luck. Took a ride and it still squeaks....

Would lithium grease even work on the flange part of the axle and rotor? There is definitely play when I take the tire off(as there should be), but not this much. When I move it as shown in the video, that squeak is the EXACT squeak I hear when driving.

I checked both sides, they both had about the same amount of "play", but the passenger side was worse - and that's the side that I get the most squeak from.

Thoughts?

I know this is a long shot but I had a similar squeak as what you've described not too long ago, I went through everything you've tried and after about a month I figured it out... It was nothing more than a very loose sway bar link... Tightened it up and bam, no more squeak. Probably not the problem you're having but it's a quick check of something that could be easily over looked... Good Luck!

Thought it was that too, but checked it. Tight and not the cause of the squeak. Thanks though....

From the video looks to me that the only thing needs to be done is to tighten that nut on the axle. Have you tried that or is it fully tightened
