Default So You Want to Run Beadlocks?

Beadlocks allow you to reduce psi below 10 without the fear of ripping your bead off the wheel. But they're not for everyone.

I just got done changing out 4 tires on my JK a couple weeks ago. Discount is a block away and they've done all my tires over the years, so they were kind enough to break the bead on the back of the wheel. I attached a pic showing where the tire started to seat itself on the bead. They had to work to get the old ones off and there was no breaking them down by hand. I can't imagine having to run dual beadlocks based upon what I saw with these wheels. Walker Evans, by the way.

It's not difficult, but will give you a workout. Dawn dish soap and water will be your friend getting the tire over the lip on the wheel. I snugged the bolts with an air ratchet in a pattern that jumped back and forth and around the tire and had no issues.

Oddly enough I've not had them balanced yet and they right great. I was a little nervous when I first took it for a spin with the new shoes on.

I ran my tires as low as about 5 PSI without beadlocks, and never had a problem.
