Soft 8

I am looking at whiles right now and I am looking at 15x 8.5/10.5. Not sure which is better but what does the soft 8 mean that I keep seeing?

Just the style of the wheel. Count the holes.

Of course, not all 8 hole wheels are called Soft 8s. For example, the MT Classic II.
