I hope I am posting this in the right place. Will a 2008 factory 4 door soft top fit a 2010 4 door? Is it the exact same thing? Thanks!

 

I can't speak for the 4dr assuredly, as I have a 2 dr, but in short - mostly yes.

They're the same, except that the door surrounds on an 08 are less user-friendly than the 2010. More importantly, you can't attach an '08 soft top to 2010 door surrounds. The 2010 top is spring loaded at the front, so it just presses down on front. On the 08 model, there are no springs, and they have retainer clips that you put into the door surround - just like you do with the bottom of the windows on the lip of the body tub.

SO, you CAN put a 2008 soft top on your 2010, BUT, you need to have the 2008 door surrounds to go with it.

When I changed my 2010 soft top for a Mopar Sunbonnet I had to get new 2009 door surrounds to fit it. Sounds like the 2010 soft top is different.

The plastic frames that go partway around the doors. The softtop attaches to them. Sometimes they are called door frames or door rails.

A 2008 soft top WITH the 2008 door surrounds WILL fit on your 2010 Jeep

OR

A 2010 soft top WITH the 2010 door surrounds WILL fit on your 2010 Jeep.

You just can't mix and match door surrounds and soft tops from different years.

 

How long are soft tops typically good for?

This is my first convertible vehicle, so I was curious, 07 2dr sahara
