Those yellow springs look great, did you have them powdercoat them yourself? I thought Rusty's were all powdercoated black...

It has to be the fact that your springs you have on now are just for a heavier load and the 2dr is pretty light compared to a 4dr hrdtp.
That's pretty much what I'm thinking, the lift looks great though

They all are powder coated black, I got engine enamel paint and gave them 4 coats, dupli color works like magic. Anything with a high heat capacity will work though because it stays very flexible so it won't come off with the flexin

It's also cheap (:

I just did a bunch of searching and found Bilstein 5100's with OME as well topping the charts for the best ride so I hope the new ones that showed up yesterday make the ride bearable. My Skyjacker's are absolutely too stiff, don't buy them, or I'll sell mine to you really cheap.

Also a lot of people say to not go over 25psi on the tires, but chalk check will be your final judge.

Most, if not all Skyjacker owners haven't been very happy with their ride. I'd spend the money on a spring swap instead of keeping on buying shocks. The bilsteins are a good shock, swap your springs IMO.

If you don't want to spend the money on Fox shocks, look at either the Rancho 9000 or the Pro Comp MX-6 shocks. Both of these are reasonably priced and are completely adjustable. I am the same as you and prefer the soft ride. I have used both the 9000 and the MX-6 shocks on different vehicles and they are very comparable. Either can be adjusted to a really soft spongy ride.

X2 Didn't even realize how much I hated my 5100's until I trashed them and replaced them with Fox. They are simply amazing. Keep your eye on Ebay and you can pick them up at a fairly reasonable price. A company was selling them and their inventory control was screwed up so they were were sending two boxes of them instead of just one box. (They were actually boxed by the pair.) Folks were trying to send them back, but the company wouldn't send return labels. Go figure. Anyhow folks got tired of waiting and from time to time, they show up on Ebay.

I too had the 5100s. Pretty firm stuff there. Off road they would hit ripples on fast gravel trail and the vehicle would skip over them never keeping the wheel on the road just constantly hunting for traction. Fox stick to the road conforming over every little ripple keeping the vehicle glued to the surface of the trail.

Rolling with proper air pressure on highways, you would think you were driving a Cadillac Escalade. I am rolling on some heavy 37s (Toyos) and it keeps everything in check.
