Default Spacers?

I'm putting 305/70-17's on stock wheels and have a 2"BB, will I need spacers? I'm assuming I will, and not sure if 1.25 or 1.5 is what I should go with. More importantly I guess is whether I'll have any bad rubbing. I'm never really off-road right now, but I will be a little once summer is here. Any help is much appreciated

You will need spacers. I would for stock wheels I would recommend 1.5" but you could get away with 1.25.

You can use 1.25 or 1.5. The only problem with 1.25 spacers is that the studs will protrude beyond the spacers about 1/8". This is not a problem with stock wheels because they have indentations behind them that have room for the studs. If you get 1.25 spacers you will run into trouble later if you get other wheels because they will not have room for the studs, or you can file them down if you know how to do so without messing up the treads.
I currently run 1.25 spacers, stock wheels and 35x12.5x17 tires with no problems. I have no plans to get new wheels, I like the stock ones.

Thanks. I found some spacers from Rough Country for about half the cost of everyone else.

I like rough country stuff, but do some research because the RC spacers are not hubcentric and the JK is designed for hubcentric wheels, so its recommeded that you use hubcentric spacer like the ones made by spidertrax and teraflex. Do a search, there is a thread about the RC spacers right now. Not saying don't get them, just do some homework to make sure that's what you want to do.

oh no not another thread like this again

To the OP Yes you will need spacers to prevent rubbing. I have Spidertrax 1.5 and they work well. But I would give the RC a try, just watch the lugs(torque them) and check them often. Hope it helps

It helps a lot, thanks. I did the search on wheel spacers - holy F**k. There's a lot about hub/lug centric - and a lot of opinions. I do like the 17" stock wheels, but I believe for the cost of spacers vs. wheels, I'll be buying wheels. I don't want to pay a ton for wheels but there are some black steel ones I lilke and would look nice on the jeep. The search is on!

True !! I screwed my spacers' studs when I put the winter wheels on and not noticed they were flat.... I almost lost 4 wheels, and when I tried to remove the wheels from the spacers, all but 3 studs broke !

Get the 1.5" !! or better, get new wheels with proper offset (4.25 to 4.75" back spacing) !!
