Default Spidertrax intallation.. Need some help.

Okay, I'm rechecking the wheel shops work after already having the torque checked once on the spacers... Found two things.
1) No Lock tight as instructed. Torque was still good, checked to about 80lbs, 500 miles on them.

2) Instructions say to remove drum/rotor retainer clips if present. Is the clip they are talking about on the Left lug and not present on the Right?

3) If I don't have someone to stand on the brakes is it still okay to do this with the axle preventing it from spinning?

I'm going to redo this tonight, just want to follow this to the letter of the law.

Just need some help in making this as safe as possible. I already know I should have done this myself the first time and understand proper backspaced wheel are better than spacers

Thanks for the help!

Torque them on to 90 foot pounds. Don't forget to remove that retainer that's on the stud in your pic. mine have been great.

1: just go get some loc tite
2: just use some needle nose pliers and remove the retainer clips. There is usually two and they are opposite each other on the lugs.
3: Not sure what you're askn there

There are 4 out of the 5 lugs that have the clips on there... we're talking the same thing, right..

Have some lock tight and will torque to 90 ft. lbs.

#3) meaning, I locked in 4wd on the front axle and it no longer spins in the counterclockwise direction for un torquing.

If i remember correctly, some hubs had 1 clip and some had 2. I left them on. How bad is that?

If you don't remove the retainer clips the spacers will not sit flat and when you start torquing the lugs there is a risk of warping the spacer or worse not getting the lugs tight enough and having them back off down the road.

Follow all the instructions and everything works great.

I test fitted mine and it seemed to have enough room to fit over the retaining clip. They looked perfectly flush with the hub when I installed them. Im gonna pull them off and reinstall them without the clips when I get the chance.

The back of the spacer is not flat (there is a groove) where it attaches to the factory lug. It looks like the clips would not come in contact with the spacer.

Default Take Off the Clips

Don't risk it. Just take off the clips.
