Default SpiderTrax Spacer Stud Broke

Hey folks,
Check this out....

OK so this might seem OK with a beat'n vehicle..... but this is my daily rig, and has been on the trail maybe 3 times in the last year....
I found this while rotating my tires today, I do this about every 4-5k miles.
Any ideas? Kinda concerned about the other studs now....
As you can see in the pic of the other studs there is rust rings on all the other ones in the same spot this one snapped......
I'm going to call SpiderTrax tomorrow to get there thoughts......

What do you think?

Are you using a torque wrench to tighten them?

According to Spidertrax (at least when I bought mine about a year ago) it is 95ft/lb. As for the original poster it does look like you over torqued it. Just remeber, never, ever, erver use an impact to tighten the lugs (ok to take them off). Always use a torque wrench, if you dont have one available use your tire iron. There is a reason the tire iron is the length it is, primarily to keep people from overtorquing.

Thanks guys....
Nope never used an impact on them, I did orginally use a torque wrench for the first and second time rotating the tires, but found that I was getting roughly the same amount of tightness using an 4-way.....
Maybe I am over tightening them, but I've been changing or rotating my tires forever and this is the first one I had snap removing lug nut.

Maybe I just under estimate my strength!!!

This happens on standard wheel studs as well...Replace the stud and move along. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

If it happens again. Its time for an investigation.

Damn, you must use a 4way like me. As others have said, over torqued. Or possibly just a weak stud. Re-place, and move on. Stop using the 4way and use a torque wrench. I've broken several using a 4way. Course, I have forearms like Popeye.
