Default Spring upgrade idea for an X

Not caring for painted fenders and being unable to justify the extra expense of a either a Saraha or a Rubi I went with an X model Wrangler, no tow package, standard suspension. It suits me well, my offroading is pretty light and I've had it out several times now and I have been impressed with it's performance "out of the box".

That said, there is always room for improvement. Enter one "throw-away" set of 09 Rubi Unlimited springs. If your interested in doing this, ask your local Jeep service center, that's where I got mine. They were free. The install took less than 2 hours with an impact and after just a quick run around the block I can feel a major improvement in both ride and handling. It doesn't nose-dive when braking anymore and both acceleration and cornering feel more responsive. I also gained about an inch and a half boost out of the deal. This is perfect for me because, at the moment, I have no intentions of running anything bigger than 33's.

You need a set of man tires. Grab some m/t's and it'll look 200x better. Great start though with the rubi springs.

Yeah yeah, I know I need tires. But I am determined to run these things off her before I buy new ones. And with the way I'm racking up the miles (damn near 13,000 already) it will be just a few more months anyway

A watched pot never boils. I bet those tires will last you 100k miles ha ha ha ha. At least if you run those for awhile you have more time to save up later.

And between the dealer and the for sale thread... You could pick up rubi tires and rims for a song.
I sold my 5 rims with "S" package tires for all of 350.00 barely used.

There are a lot of guys in Florida who get together btw.. from Miami to Ocala and many in between. For meet and greets and trails.

Nice jeep too.
