Spyder diff covers
Where are you guys getting the colored diff covers or are you doing that yourself? All I'm seeing is black on their website and I really want red. Leaning towards the ARB but almost twice as much.
Will you be opening them up again any time soon? I thought about that. Wouldn't open up till I re gear next year, so just bought the covers and they come with RTV. Been a month now and no sight of leaks! If your going to regear soon or add a locker and such, then get the lubelocker.
) or you can get them without paint and do a total custom
As far as which sealer to use (RTV vs gasket) they both do the job. PSC recommends the RTV (and include a tube with each cover). It works fine and will not leak. If you are planning on removing the cover for any reason in the future them the gasket will save the time and effort of removing the sealer before replacing the cover.
I like the Poison Spyder because they are smooth and a rock can slide on that surface better than the ARB. I have beat on mine and they are holding up great. ARB is very proud ($$) of their products but there always high quality too.
To revive this.... 2 friggin hours later my new front diff is leaking like a dam!! FML!!!!!' I should have gone with the gasket but nooooooo I went with the messy PITA RTV that comes with it... Now after filling it with 3.5 qtz of oil, the front fkr is dripping out!!!!! It's late, I'm frustrated, and I knew I should have gone with the gasket but for some reason didn't.... Follow your instinct!
