Default Steering Not Centered After Wheeling

Every time I go for hard core wheeling my steering gets off centered. I have a SOLID D60 Axles, with 4340 chromo heavy duty steel drag link and Tie Rod with 1 ton ball joints.

Checked everything is tight but how the hell does the steering goes off center ????

Also devloped a large clunk in the steering colum rattleing bad goins over bumps but not when i turn sterring left & right any clues???/

Have you checked the splines on your sector shaft at the pitman? And or checked for any play in the box and or the box flexxing. Also the intermediate steering shaft for slop in the splines and the joints and firewall bushing.

Maybe its the freakin box itself, does psc do a rebuild on it with the kit or just plumb it?

Is there any evidence the adjustments on the tie rod or drag link are jumping threads?

just because it's chromo doesn't mean that a tie rod can't bend especially. likewise, pusing a super heavy 60, it's not impossible to have your track bar bend too. at least, it's happen to me before.

check the bushing that holds the column in place at the fire wall - there's one in the engine compartment that drops down and if yours has, tap it back up and it should help.

I had this happen to me twice. I started making sure the drag link adjuster bolts were nice and tight evey time I go wheeling and it has stopped happening for me. I have gone wheeling 20x since I started this and no reoccurance. doesnt mean it isnt somthing more complicated but I would start by making sure the bolts r nice and tight every wheeling trip.
