Steering stabilizers?
You don't need two stabilizers. And I don't agree with you that they are important. They are only important if you don't want to fix the real issue that is causing problems. Bad ball joints, loose draglink (or in my case a wobbled out knuckle mount for the draglink), unbalanced or uneven tires, bent tie rod, incorrect toe in/out.
Get those in line and you don't need the stabilizer. Most people have at least one of the above issues so the stabilizer helps in those cases.
And as someone else mentioned, a stabilizer will not help bump steer. If you are lifted high enough, your steering geometry is so out of whack and that's what causes it. A high steer kit will fix the bump steer.

The stabilizer is a damper for vibration. So for a system that is highly undamped and the resonant frequency can be excited easily a damper is very important.
So death wobble happens at resonant frequency and the stabilizer dampens or absorbs the energy which helps to prevent the system from getting lit up and shaking itself apart.
