Default Steering Wheel Rattle on highway - 2012

So, my 2012 Rubicon has a slight metallic ringing or clicking or pinging sound coming from the steering wheel, on the highway.

it's got a 3" BDS lift w/foxx shox and works very well. The rattle started maybe a few weeks ago?

It goes to the dealer and they sold it to me w/the lift w/full warranty...

it's not the keys, i removed all the keys from my keychain and even held the key going over bumps on the highway...

i'm 99% sure it's IN the steering wheel...

anyone else have this issue?

thanks

I have the same thing in my 2012.... It really only does it on the highway or if I'm driving at a decent clip on dirt roads (neither of which I do too often) so I haven't bothered getting it looked at. Definitely a rattle inside the center part of the steering wheel. Everything is tight in the suspension so I'm not sure.

How many miles on your 2012? My 2008 did that around 50,000 miles. Now that I'm at 96,000 the clunk in the steering wheel is gone...I also dropped my lift from a 4in Rancho to a 2.5in AEV....

Another thought is check your front track bar if its aftermarket, could be loose.

im sure the track bar wont cause a cling in the inner cab steering wheel ! however a track bar can help the tightness of steering i hear .

keep us posted on this noise w/ update good to know of future things to look for with the 12
