I used meguiars quick wax The spray bottle was close by when I was removing mine and it worked even better then WD-40 I was pleasantly suprised

If it's cold go inside and get the wife's hair dryer and heat 'em up - makes them more pliable and easier to flex over the holder....

Anything that is a lubricant will help them slide - spray silicone is my favorite if it's handy. Otherwise I've used vinyl protectant (I.e. armor-all type stuff), spray lithium, wd-40 type lubricants, etc.

Wish I'd have thought of that a month ago. I got so sick of trying I just cut em off.
