I can't imagine that jack working if it was in that position on my Jeep. Between the road salt, slush and snow in the winter and the mud and water on the trails in the summer it would be seized up solid by the time I went to use it! If it works in FL then that's great.

Purchase a neoprene boot for the mechanical portion of the jack followed up with some minor maintenance (can of WD40) now and again. Problem solved.

My HiLift isn't on the Jeep unless we are wheeling. When it is mounted, the nuts are tightened with a wrench so that it cannot be removed easily.

Well, like anything else outside, it needs a little TLC every now-and-then. It rains in FL about 9 out of 12 month. That's why I painted it with Rustoleum about a year ago. After a mudding I wash it with a pressure cleaner and spray the hell out of it with Boeshield T-9...so far - so good.

A. No rocks in FL!
B. 4" lift and 35" tires do help!
C. Easily removed if needed!

Ouch, clearance seems low with the jack hangin off the bumper like that. I guess ok if your not playing on the rocks.

Good point, but it looks worth than it is...and no rocks
