Default Stupid newbe question

What are the pros and cons in moving up in tire size?

Right now I'm running 33's but I want to run 35's and a small lift.

Note: running 3.73 gears now with an auto trans.

Clearance is the biggest pro. The bigger the tire, the more clearance you have with the axles.

cons include worse mpg, worse braking, and more stress put on other parts. Re-gearing will also be necessary

I'm no expert, but going from a 33 to a 37 (over a 10% increase in size!) will require taller gearing to turn those wheels and keep rpms manageable.

For perspective; I'm running 4.10 gears ('07) and had 33"s on it and thought it was manageable with the stock fears. I just went to 35"s (and heavier wheels), and it's not pleasant now. I'll be rehearing at some point in the near future (I hope). I would guess that your wheels with 37"s would be sopimilar in weight to my wheels and 35"s.

Yeah I'm running some pretty light pro comps so I'm thinking 35's will be manageable on my 3.73 for a while but I'll eventually get 4.88's
