Suggested Psi for Nitto ridge grappler 285/70/r17
Have a 2016 Jku 2.5 teraflex suspension lift kit with 9550 shocks, on 285/70/r17 Nitto ridge grapplers on stock rims, front and back steel bumpers, 75th anniversary edition, what is the suggested psi? I have it right now all tires at 35 psi. Mostly daily driver in town, 1-2x a week hwy drive (200 mile back and forth).
thanks in advance!

I have the same size tire in Bighorn Maxxis. What I do is watch the treadwear to determine pressure. With 35PSI (to shut that bloody TPMS down) it was wearing in the middle so I reduced the pressure to 29 and is good now. To fix the TPMS I used my HPTuners Scanner and it allows me to set TPMS which I took down to 15PSI to even cover for air down off-road to 18psi.
Yup, the chalk test is your friend. Is that E rated in that size? If so, PSI is going to be a lot lower than you'd initially think cuz the sidewall is so stiff. Everyone's experience is going to be a little different due to tire rating and altitude, but the chalk test doesn't lie about what tread is touching the ground or not. Since you can't have your cake and eat it too, you'll have to choose between fuel economy and tire wear....or find that fine balance.
