if you read my post I said it was only worth to me and only to me. I have a Rubicon and it does not impede on the sway bar disco motor or the vacuum pump, no cutting, no welding just bolt on and call it a day. It took me about 20 minutes to mount it up and it is solid as a rock and when the day comes when I want to remove it, it will take the same 20 minutes and it will be like it was never there.
I read that it was worth it for you....just curious as to why exactly is all. Thought maybe I was missing out on something.....I didn't have any problems with the harbor freight plate mounting to my Rubi, though it didn't take me 20 mins to install. Nothing a little grinding couldn't fix though.
2 holes will line up on the frame rails if I remember correctly and I had to drill out the other 2 or widen them...don't remember exactly. Wasn't anything too crazy
I too read all the "winch/stock bumper" threads. I went with a bolt in between the frame rail style, a Warrior products winch mount, P/N 507-174, it was like $150 too. It took me a little while as I chopped the heck out of the bumper, turned out fine though.

for some people like me and jadmt, maybe we don't have the right tool and/or skill and don't want to go wrong. I am living in city, so no place to work around which is also a problem
I read through the Harbor Freight plate with stock bumper post, like it a lot, but i don't have tools to cut the plate to fit and to drill the holes on the frame
but if you can post a list of tools, maybe I can try HD tool rental..?

You'll need an afternoon and a prefabbed winch mounting plate it shouldn't be a problem if your mechanically inclined. I mounted a warn M12 behind my front bumper
