Default super winch epi9000 vs s9000

Hello I'm fairly new here still so sorry if this has been discussed before.

Does anyone have experience with both of these winches? From the spec's the epi beets the S hands down in every category but is 40% more expensive and has a way lower horsepower motor. Why would one buy the S series? Is it the planetary drive or the weight savings? Are they that much better than the drive in the epi to justify the extra cost? The amp draw for the S is 200 amps more then the epi at max pull and the fpm is half that of the epi. I'll be buying a winch soon so I'm doing a lot of research.

I bought the EPi 9000 and am totally satisfied with it. It has 125 feet of cable compared to 100 feet on most other winch. The solonoids are much better than Warn has as I had to many failures with the Warm's when worked hard. I have made my 11 vehicle recovery plus this week with the tornado that hit our area, I pulled trees out of the road and and away from homes. Guess I am sold on the EPi 9000 as it also is easier on the battery!

I have an epi9 and it works great. No problems so far.
