Superchip question
Will this work?
I have a friend that has purchased a superchip but has not used it because he is waiting for the up date to come for his 2011.
All I want to do is shut off that damn "low tire" warning and in the manual it states that "tire pressure monitoring system adjustment is a stand-alone feature meaning that NO programing is required".
Does this mean that I could "borrow" his unit to shut it off and then it wouldn't require me to "reset to factory settings" before my Jeep went in for any kind service?
The chances are that this would be a one time shot for me to use his flashpac. In other words if I was to use it today and he got the up date tomorrow for his Jeep it would essentialy be out of use for me and I would have absolutly no way of changing anything on mine.
I know that this isn't exactly on the up and up but that damn light is really bugging me at night and I just don't have the funds to but a programer of any kind right now.

It will work til he wants to use it then he will have to turn yours back to the original settings. Basically on flashpac per vehicle. It's a rip off because I have two jks and I would have to spend 800 to do both.
Exactly. The Flashpaq has to identify the vehicle before any changes are made. In order to use it on another vehicle, the unit must bring the original vehicle back to stock settings.
The "stand alone" feature simply means that you do not have to use a tuning feature in order to use the TPMS function. The speedometer calibration for larger tires works in the same way.
