Default Superchips....ARRGGHH!

I bought a flashpaq for my 08 auto to modify my gear timing, but stupid thing wont update! It gives me a "bootloader error" "cannot recover programmer". I did a search here and came to thread "Superchips Initial Impression", but most talk was about tunes. I haven't got there yet...

Can anyone assist? I've called SC and got the same guy twice, who tells me to unplug the usb , wait 5 secs, plug back in..etc, I've asked if he can email the update, but no...he said it will automatically do it once the software works...so, any information will be appreciated. I'm starting to think I wasted 300 bucks. Thoughts?

I had issues updating mine. I was using a laptop and was connected to the internets via wireless. I ended up connecting my laptop directly to my cable modem with a network cable and that seemed to do the trick (better speed). Also it might help to plug your SC into a powered USB port (some machines have these, some don't). Or you can try a USB port that is located on the back of your PC. I'm not sure if any of this will help, give it a try.

Also make sure your SC software is correct for your PC\Laptop, meaning 64-bit or 32-bit OS.

I looked into the connectivity issues being mentioned and found out that the Superchips Internet Update server is currently experiencing significant technical issues (a perfect storm of hardware and software crashes) resulting in poor login and tuner update performance.

Our R&D team is working aggressively to address the server problem; however, the solution appears to be very time consuming. We expect to have the matter resolved no later than Feb 11, so please be patient with us. We regret the inconvenience. We’re committed to excellent customer service and will try to keep you posted with progress reports.

Your servers have SERIOUS replication issues, you should stop outsourcing your IT.

Creating my user account was a PITA. If I ran SC I would have IT work day/night to resolve these little bugs and make setting up your SC rock solid. Most IT savvy users can work around these issues, but for users that are not IT savvy it can be a real turnoff. Just sayin… I was able to work around all the issues, but there were times that I was ready to throw in the towel.

Had some of the same issues described above back in December but it turned out to be issues with my home network...after a router reboot all was well. I'm sure SuperChips would like their server issues to be resolved sooner rather than later. Love the 91 tune!

You should be able to install a tune without updating. You just won't get the special download features until their network comes back up

Mine had the issue for about a month and so and when i communicated with superchips tech they blamed my internet connection which im using for over two years for updating hypertech, superchipa and Diablo with no problem.

so now ive thrown my superchips on the garage floor till they find a solution and went back to my first tuner hypertech

why cant we just download the updated tune first and then install it on the tuner offline like Diablo tuners???
