Default Superchips Auto transmission

i have a 2 dr auto transmission with 3.73 gears. i also have 35s and im wondering if the superchips flashpaq would be worth it for me. ive read some threads but im trying to find jeeps similar to mine who have the flashpaq. ive noticed my speedometer is off a little, my gas mileage went from 17.4 to 13, and i can tell there a lack of power in cruising and often find it downshifting to gain speed...will it help out on any of these issues? thanks a lot

By killing overdrive you're OK but still need to address the speedometer issue as that is in part what determines your shift points. A Flashpaq is just going to be a bandage to get your shift points correct and some additional performance but you relly need to go under the knife and get the gears done.

Well "Big" is a relative term for sure, so I wouldn't say a "Big" change in as much as a "Noticeable" change. Put it this way, when I had to tune it back to stock for some warranty work, it felt like a dog then. Don't forget, I also have an Airaid CAI w/ throttle body riser. As far as I'm concerned my 2 door gets up and scoots. Also remember you have 3:73s and I have 4:10s. But either way, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.

With a 2dr on 35s and an auto tranny, you'll want 5.13s unless you spend a significant amount of time at 80 mph.
Totally agree, although I can't find a good argument not to roll with 5.38s on 35+ tires with an auto. The load difference on the engine won't change that much with the extra rpm at the same highway speeds so it won't suddenly become a high revving gas guzzler, but the biggest culprit of people's frustrations, flashing rpms on downshifts, will be reduced.

Sure......regearing is THE way to go, but I know I don't have an extra $1200-$1500. just laying around to do so. And I doubt most of us on here does either. $350. for a REAL nice boost........now that's more my style.

Yes.......I hear ya, Priorities..... I know one thing, I wanted 15" tires from the get go, but nobody had any up here locally, and if I was to ship some up here and have them not fit, well.......I'd be out a shitload of $$$. So I settled with 16s. And unfortunately, when most of you don't have to worry about $$$ for shipping in the lower 48, shipping large heavy objects to AK. sometimes will cost as much as the item you're buying....it's freekin' crazy. I can't just look at the price of a part and call it good, I have to add on a bunch for shipping as well. So again, I try to stay away from that as much as I can, but it get's pretty hard to do sometime. The price of living in God's country I guess...........lol
