Is there any 89 tune? Just curious. I'm testing a tuner next weekend!

Hmm, i'm from Australia, really interested in getting the Superchip Flashpaq, but over here our premium fuel is a supposed "98 Octane". If there's no tune setting for 98, I'm wondering what the resulting performance will be... We do have 93 octane here too though.

I remember the octane rating was really high in Germany also, but they use a different formula than in the US. You may want to check the pumps to see what formula they use to compute octane. The US uses R+M/2. Try these links:

Thanks for that Jak, makes sense now. I think the Australian rating is much the same as UK, in which case 98 over here is really 93 in the US. So I might get a flashpaq anyhow!

After a couple tanks of 91, I want to try to find a station with 93 to try that tune as well. I have stock tires on a 09 Rub.
While set on the 91 octane setting and using 91 fuel, I drove on the highway last night about 60 miles at about 65 mph. Computer had me at 18.5 mpg. Coming back, I averaged 78 mph and average dropped to about 16 mpg. Engine ran strong and had more power if I needed it, but obviously fuel efficiancy drops dramatically over 65 mph.

Does anyone have any suggestions about my situation.
I have the Flashpaq which I think is great.
My engine had occasionally a slight knock/clunk under acceleration before I started using the Flashpaq.
I took the Jeep into 3 different dealers and none of them can find anything wrong.
Now, when I am using the 87 Flashpaq tune, I can really notice the knocking/clunking and is easily recreated.
Any ideas on how I can show these "experts" at the dealer that there is a problem during a test drive without having the computer programmed with the Flashpaq.
Once they see I have the Flashpaq, they will blame the Flashpaq for ruining the engine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Okay well I was lucky enough to Demo a Tuner for Friday and Saturday. Here is my first impression.

Pros-
Throttle delay is much better when driving the 6spd
Pulls better, struggles less in all gears
6th gear pull is noticeably better
TPMS was cured
Speedo was cured

Cons-
*Spark Knock on 91 performance tune running 91 octane
*Takes a LONG time to put a tune in (5mins or so?)
*The crawl tune sucks for a stick shift. In my opinion. I am used to crawling with my clutch pedal, in the "crawl" tune it wants to stall and needs more gas to do the same things. The idle needs to be brought up and the same throttle delay needs to be there to make this tune useful.

Major con was the guys at the event didn't give a damn about what i had to say about their tuner. Blew me right off, and it didn't seem to matter that I didn't feel like dropping the $330 on it at the event. Guess it doesn't really matter how it works in the real world?

Will i buy one? Yes. However I'm not chomping at the bit to drop the money on it right this second..

Have you changed the stock plugs out? The stock plugs in the JK are total junk.

FWIW.. I changed out my plugs and wires before I installed the Flashpaq..
