Computers and chips are not an exact science, meaning that it is not 100%/perfect, sometimes funny things happen/software or hardware does not load correctly or the hardware may be on its way out (chip going bad or connections), The thing to do is to re-boot or in our case reload or reprogram with a new up-date. Even start from the very begining and restart your own PC (sometimes it's like that) you have to restart programs that don't load correctly, the secret is to take you time and let software take it's time in loading or reload software even though it seems it has loaded correctly. Like I say, the many problems I have seen in software and some hardware, The best advice I can give is to shut everything down, wait at least 10 seconds, I usually go 30, and restart everything and start from scratch. Dealing with software takes time and patience and the willingness to start from scratch and even the want to reload the software if thats what it takes. Good luck, if you have to take superchips program off of your PC and start from there (start from the very beginin). Take your time.

Has anybody messed with the shift points?
I found the post by JK@ZA on page 177 with his spreadsheet but didn't see much else. Admittedly, I might have missed a post here or there with the 200+ pages of posts.
The main thing I would like to change is the shift from 3rd to overdrive. I'd like to bump it up a bit so I'm not shifting into OD running around town then jumping right back down out of it.
Anybody else mess with them and had any luck...is it worth messing with?
Thanks

Speaking of thermostat..... What changes are you all doing. I can't seem to find the page in this massive thread talking about it from jpop! 180 and fan at 200? Is that with a new thermostat or stock?

In a side note you can now Purchased and upgrade to be able to use the Tuner in two(2) Vehicles -

On the newer tuners, you can buy a additional VIN slot to tune 2 trucks at one.

I have not play w/ the shifts points yet. But you first have to change the stock rpm settings to be able to change the shift points.

Hope that helps you.

Anyone else having problems with the SC Easy Update program not filling up the space completely and looking cut off? I have a large white area on the right side of the window when it's running, and the information looks a little cut off.

Default Mileage XS

With gas over 4 bucks a gallon for a long time now, in California, I decided to try the Mileage XS program. Was using the performance 87 tune.

To my disappointment gas mileage seems to have DROPPED, even tho I am also trying to drive more conservatively. I might as well go back to the performance tune.

Anyone have success with the MXS tune?

For me the Mileage XS is getting more MPG in the HighWay and less in the city compare to the 87 Tune.

W/ the 87 tune I get 1 to 1.5 MPG more in the city than w/ the MIleage X -

I do mostly freeway driving, but most trips are under 15 miles and include city driving. So my mileage has gone down. I did more freeway stuff the last couple of days, driving to Long Beach and back. That was about 150 miles all together. My mileage did improve a little, but not enough to make up for the loss on most of the other days.

Guess I will put it back to the performance tune and live with it. At least I get decent acceleration that way.
