I have to say the tune is real nice. I'm running the 87 octane tune now. I just don't like being misled. AEV found a way around the issue, why can't SC?

I would return this thing if I could, but the legendary Northridge 4x4 service isn't working for me (possible 30% restocking fee) and SC doesn't want to hear about a direct return.

For those who want to pursue it here's a link to the BBB page for SC:

OK, you're right, now you are a whiner.

Show me where it says in any of their documentation that you can turn TPMS off.

Did AEV find a way around TPMS and the federal regulations that surround it or did they just ignore the requirements and not pay any attention to them?

BBB? Please.

I generally don't feed the trolls, so I'll leave it at this and I'm done.
Tire pressure monitoring system – lower the setting for off-road use to avoid the annoying alarm
from the Jeep Flashpaq web site.

Do you air down? Do you go below 20 PSI? If you do, then you are not avoiding the annoying alarm. Simple, no?

I think there is risk of going too far in either direction. I am disappointed in the TPMS aspect but I primarily bought the tuner for recalibrating speedo and secondarily for the performance tunes. Both deliver so for the most part I am happy with the product. That said there is no way to sugar coat the part about the TPMS. It sucks. I would have bought the programmer without it though (oh, wait I guess I did ) and have no thoughts of returns or official complaints. I will just deal with the little ding and hope that something changes.

Welcome to the "I'm a rabid SC owner, nothing is better, Hypertech sux, and you are wrong and stupid if you disagree with me" post.

BTW, not all Jeep owners are like that.

Certainly! And thank you.

It's really amazing when you do get a product (the Flashpaq) that may not deliver what some people felt was advertised (turning off TPMS) but does deliver real increases in performance with the various tunes.

I'll say it again, the money I spent on the Flashpaq was second only to the money I spent on the Cibie headlight upgrade in terms of bang for the buck!
As a matter of fact, it drives so nice that I'll be taking it a couple of hours up the interstate tomorrow to check on some rental property instead of driving the Lexus.

Got my flashpaq today and was excited to get it going. I registered it and downloaded the Easy Update software, performed the update then went out to my Jeep. Followed the directions exactly, but just after I selected the quick tune option I received an error message code #G-6F.

The FAQ's say this means the programmer does not have a complete databae and to run the Easy Update again. So I did - - problem not fixed. the EU says the programmer is up to date, but the error message continues to flash. WTF?!

Hoping I can get around this tonight rather than waiting until tomorrow (at least) before contacting SC.

He would simply resell the unit, which I don't think is right, but apparently sending them back to Superchips is difficult for them.

I contacted Superchips this AM about returning it directly to them and this is the response I got:

Had the guy that runs their forums known it was this close to release it would have saved a hell of a lot of typing!
Page 26 of the owners manual states "Superchips is confident you will be satisfied with your programmer. If for any reason, you are not completely satisfied within 30 days after your purchase of a a new Superchips programmer ("Product"), you may return it to the place you bought it for a FULL REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE, credit or a replacement Product at the dealer's discretion.

I think that means there is some agreement between SC and their distributors that the distributors agree to accept returns in full. It also does say credit or replacement at the dealers discretion but nowhere does it say minus restocking fees.

If you really want to return it and it's less than 30 days I would call northridge again and if that doesn't work call SC and let them know that the dealer isn't living up to the guarantee stated in the owners manual.

That said. I just installed mine yesterday and am definately keeping it.
