Default Superior Gear Quality

I was wondering how may people that have regeared their Jks are happy with the Superior gears. I notice that some complain that the gears have a loud wine to them. It seems to be hit or miss. Or perhaps is it more of a installation issue, where some are better at setting the gears up than others. How many of you are happy with no noise?

Thank you for your thoughts

I've also heard the quality of the gears called into question on a few different threads. I'd be curious to hear opinions specifically to their quality too.

I havent heard any gears breaking, since the last time I talked with them, so how can they be bad quality?

15,000 miles on the gears, no noise, no issues

That points to the question. It's possible that the comments about the quality are unfounded.

It always boils down to the same issue. Weed out the "I heard" threads from the threads of people with actual issues they have had, and can explain in some detail what those issues were. The "I heards" are the ones that make a simple thread go on for 20 pages.

I have heard of people regearing and having whining noises. I believe they quiet down as they break in. I am not so sure it is the gears as much as the installation. I haven't heard any issues as to the quality of the gears.

I had Superior 5:13's installed in my Jeep at 120 Miles last Month. My gears do "whine" when I let off the gas but only slightly. They (4wheelparts) told me that it was "normal" and should go away, although it has never gone away I now have 2,100 miles. Anyone know if this is "normal" should I take it back?

I called Superior gear customer service and asked them about the complaints of the gears winning. I was told that they are making adjustments to the gear lapping. He told me they were on there forth batch of gears and they were improving. I then called Precision gear and was told that there was only one manufacturer at the time that had gears for th JK and they sell them to Superior. I was told that they for a short time distributed the same gears but were not happy with there quality. The gears for the dana 44 were not to bad, but the dana 30 had a poor design he said. Precision has a new manufacturer that meets their standards and they will be distributing them at the end of March he said. I always thought these guys made their own gears.
I guess not.
