Cool Superlift or Pro Comp?

I have been silent for about 8 months on this site but now its time to start getting busy. Traded in a 94 Fire Engine Red Wrangler for a 2007 4 Door Silver Wrangler Unlimited. I just bought a Mopar Fuel Door Cover on Ebay for about 90 dollars and looking to buy a lift kit for my Jeep. There is ALOT of chatter about Teraflex 2.5 but it seems to me that the 4" Superlift and Pro Comp Stage 1 running about 570.00 is not a bad deal considering that me and the guys at the Firestation are putting it on. I plan on starting out with 35's but maybe 37 Inch tires. Just curious if there was any difference at all between the two or if anyone on here has put these on their Jeeps. I also have noticed that Rancho, Sky Jacker and a few others are about 300.00 more than the previous two is that just paying for a name or do they offer a better quality products.

From what I read on this fantastic forum , personally i will go with Black Diamond 3" lift and 35x12.5x18 , this would clear 35's with no problem and for around $700 I beleive it is a great value, can anybody suggest anything better ? it would be greatly appreciated ,thanks

Rubicon express BB will clear 35's and level out your 4 door $349 and u get new shocks too . I luv the kit, only minimal tire rub at flex, take off that damn valence in the front and your good to go on 35's Dunno about 37's though, major wheelwell trimming and bumpstops seems needed

As mentioned, if you are planning to go up to 4" of lift and run 35" tires or taller, you really need a kit that is more complete than what either of these will give you. At this height, you really want to have adjustable front and rear track bars as well as adjustable upper and lower control arms so that you can set your caster angle to what it needs to be, set your rear pinion angle if you have a 2-door and are getting a new double cardin drive shaft like you should and reposition your axles under your Jeep. Without these things, your Jeep will have ride quality and handling issues.

I can tell you that the basic 3" Black Diamond (Superlift) kit works great and rides great too. It does not come with adjustable control arms, but you can add those later if you want to. I started out with it and ran 35" tires and it rode and handled great, as good as stock if not better. I added a 1" body lift and am now running 37's with it. It would have been cheaper for me to have just used the 4" Superlift kit to start with, but having 4" or more of suspension lift you really want to start leaning heavily toward getting adjustable control arms to dial in your suspension to help it handle better. That's why I ended up just adding a 1" body lift instead of swapping out my 3" springs for 4" springs. Eventually I will be adding all new Superlift RockRunner adjustable control arms to go along with my lift, and I might take off the 1" body lift and put the 4" springs in it at that time.

i have the procomp, but i also got the mx-6 shocks. if you are looking for ride quality, on any lift, invest in some quality shocks. on the pro comp the lift it is more like 4/3 lift to level out the front. you are going to need to at least get an adjustable front track bar as well. it would beter to get a rear as well because it does have the relo bracket on the axle side. so the welds and the bracket would need to beefed up if going to use it. i only got the procomp because i plan on going to 37's once my 35's wear down. but in the mean time i will be getting control arms. i also got a killer deal that i couldnt pass up.

I got the 4" superlift and am running 35's. It sits level and rides great. It is a good kit and good quality. Just be sure to center your steering wheel.

i have a procomp 4'' which has been good after adding rear upper arms and an adj. rear track arm. my kit came with everything else but also cost around 1700.00. if i did it over again id go with the 3.5 RE that is complete for the same price
