Default Superlift Steering Stabilizer

OK. So I get my lift installed tommorrow at my dealer - I got my rock hard transmission skid plate and steering stablizer today.

My question is should I install it or let a professional do it?

The first sentence in the directions say, and I quote 'Installation requires a professional mechanic'.

I just wanted to check in and see if there are any write ups on this or should I just take it to a shop?

I would take it to my dealer tommorrow and have them install it but my track bars arent here yet and I was going to do this and it at the same time myself(assuming its not to hard)

It's not hard to install at all... just follow the instructions and you can't go wrong but if your getting your lift put in by your dealer i'd have it done at the same time it only takes about 10-15 mins so i can't see them charging you anymore to do it

Well from what I understand it would be best to install the front track bar, adjust it then install the steering stab....dont want it 'hiding' nothing ..but I could be wrong?

I scheduled the appointment a week ago to have my lift installed, which is an ome with the track bars and I have everything right now but my track bars

So I either reschedule or just have them to the bulk of my install, which is the ome springs and shocks........

seems like the track bar is going to be very very easy, the steering stab requires drilling so im not sure about it

This is why they send you so many Superlift stickers, all joking aside, it works great anyway , dents and all.

I have this steering stabilizer and installed it a few weeks back. Instructions are very clear as to what to do. I put it together loosely then started the install. You need to drill one hole which requires a 1/2" drill bit. No biggie as it was pretty easy. This also assumes you have a breaker bar to remove the track bar bolt and a torque wrench that goes beyond 125ftlbs. This is the torque setting for the track bar.

I agree with the assessment of first install the trackbar and make sure everything is working correctly. I would actually make sure after a few days nothing needs to be adjusted and then put the stabilizer on.

I did the Superlift Stabilizer myself this week, time consuming - like 1 hour and use the standard 1/2" drill bit, don't go riding around to Lowes, Home Depot, or a local store and look for the 17/32" bit, it won't matter

Ok thats what ill do.... i get the dealer to install my lift tomorrow, when the track bars get here ill install and center my axle, ride it for a week or so , check everything out and then install the steering stabilizer ...does that sound alright?

And I have excess to plenty of tools, my GFs dad has a shop that builds semi trucks.....

so I have excess to his garage ....the only reason im not trying to install the lift myself is because my dealer was so damn cool about it.

BTW Thanks for all the replies

Acutally mine looks perfect and white .. no dents

I am thinking about (not sure yet) trying to find some paint to get it to match my yellow ome shocks

I installed last Sunday and it was easy. It took me about a 1/2 hour to install. If I had my trackbar, I probably would've installed it at the same time so I didn't have to take everything apart twice. But, its easy and you can do it yourself.

Mine was also pristine... no dents or anything.
