Yeah, that was before i went back and read your entire post. I have a bad habit of looking at pics, reading a brief description, and making a judgement. :( Sorry

OK here's a pic of mine from a distance from this past weekend.

I have flexed mine all the way out many times since I installed it, and don't see any damage on the shock, but I did see a slight rubbing on the track bar from one of the u-bolts. I think I may try using the stock bracket/u-bolt assembly like you did. That looks like a great idea. I hope I still have it. I may even reverse the shock like I showed in that 1st pic, I think that will give the can more clearance as well.

My bolt that went through the shock on the driver's side would hit my track bar when I was flexed w/my drivers side tire starting to stuff up into the fender while I was full lock to the left (driver's side). That made the track bar REALLY close to the shock. In RedRock's photo (previous post) you can see there is a LOT of room right now, but imagine turning the wheel all the way to the left (driver's side) and then stuffing the driver's side tire... it gets really close then.

Override, no problem... I'm the same way... especially when these posts start getting to be so long... which I'm also guilty of producing

OK, here's the true 'fix'... I went home at lunch and flexed out the Jeep again... The SS still hits the trackbar and the steering arm (see photos):

This is flexed out fairly well w/the wheels pointed towards the driver's side (left):

This photo is taken from the front of the Jeep looking back:

These photos are taken from the passenger side wheel well looking down at the SS:

This photo is from below and behind the SS looking toward the front of the Jeep (I was under the Jeep):

As you can see from the above photos... even with using the factory tie rod bracket (which does give the best position for the SS), the SS still gets bound between the steering arm and the track bar. Below is my solution which still uses the factory bracket on the tie rod, but takes RedRock's concept in the photo he posted above and flips the SS around so the shock (fat part) is on the passenger side as opposed to how the directions state (see my post way above) which is to have the shock (fat part) on the driver's side which just gets in the way (the bolt does) when you go full flex full lock to the left (driver's side).

No problem... thanks for your picture of the JK on the rack... that gave me the final idea of flipping it to see how the clearance would be. I really think Superlift needs to redo their directions and probably come out w/a bracket that more resembles the factory one and then just point it up like my photo above.

Hey, btw, how do your 37's do? Any rubbing? I am curioius because my setup up is pretty much exactly like yours except I'm running 35's. Just wondering if 37's at full stuff touch the fenders or anything else.

Interesting thread. I am considering changing my SS as well. From what you guys have said, it really doesn't matter which way you turn the SS, as long as it works. I had always thought that they had to be turned the factory one goes.

I just got home and checked mine for the clearance issues dicussed. My 08 has a different bracket setup than either of yours. I will have to mount mine with the big end toward the drivers side. There is only enough room on the other side, passenger side, for the small end and just barely enough for the small factory SS.
Thanks for the information...

Just another POSSIBLE solution guys. This past week at East Coast JK Fest I DESTROYED the steering stabilizer. I actually had to remove it on the trail to finish the hill climb But anyway for the past several days now i have been driving without one and will remain that way forever. I prefer the JK WITHOUT one. It feels much better on road and off with out. Much more "feed back" so you could always return yours and run without. I am not telling you one way or the other just offering another choice.
