Default Superwinch and fairlead

Today, I bought the Superwinch LP8500

There is a fairlead included (no rollers)
My project is to install a synthetic rope, and I would prefer a 4-way roller fairlead to have a better protection for the rope.
Do you think that all the fairlead have the 2 holes at the same distance?

A roller fairlead, is it really better?

By the way, the brand new steel cable is for sale in the "for sale" section

Return it, it is a P.O.S..Mine was junk after only 3 months, rain water leaks into the motor through the top terminals and rusts the motor out, I would suggest the smittybilt comp8 with synthetic rope, $450 from 4WD hardware
P.S. superwinch does know about this problem there tech guy is the one who explained it to me

Many Canadian Jeepers have this model for years with no issues.
And the replacement parts are very easy to find in Canada. I don't want to invest big money for a winch, because I will rarely use it.
About the rust, I have a winch cover
About the smittybilt: 450$ = 700$ CAN with the shipping and custom fees.

If you are going to a synthetic line, go with a Hawse fairlead. I have the ORO X-Line fairlead and love it. Big, smooth curves, no issues ay any angle line pulls.

Hawse fairlead does'nt has rollers. Why some fairleads have rollers?

About the synthetic rope, the 50' models are not expensive. Is it long enough?

Yes a roller will work IF IT HAS NO SCRATCHES. Any scratches or sharp spots will cut into the rope. You would be better off with an aluminium hawse fairlead.

Daystar does make non-metallic rollers to replace the steel ones and use synthetic line.
