suspended hard top storeage
Well the weather is suppose to clear over the weekend so I can finally take off EVERYTHING. Took off doors, front panels, now for the rear...but I'm all alone. I test its weight, not too heavy, so I lift it myself and glide it down some ramps. Then I realize that I can NOT stand it up on its end to make room to park the jeep in the garage....windshield wiper would bust. I'm hesitant to lay it on its side.
Long story short: I got 4 of those bike hooks you screw in your ceiling beams and some tie downs. Now all I have to do is pull into the garage, loosen the screws and wrap the straps around the top then crank away. Its really clunky with tie downs, I imagine I'll improve with a pully system instead, but this is a quick solution....FWIW

But here it is: It took me only 2 hours to do this. Since the studs were 24" apart I couldn't get a perfect vertical drop from the pulleys...but it seems to work very well anyway.
edit: It was very easy to pull it up by myself and tie it off.
